European Ecolabel LES TOURELLES has been awarded the EUROPEAN ECOLABEL for tourist accommodation.
In order to achieve Ecolabel status, we have had to change some of our habits and practices to comply with rules that are respectful of the environment and are aimed at sustainable development.
You will find more information on the European ECOLABEL on www.eco-label.com.

The criteria for being awarded the EUROPEAN ECOLABEL cover a wide range of categories:

Energy
  • Use of electricity produced from renewable sources
  • Controls on the quality of domestic fuel oil
  • Boiler efficiency
  • Thermal insulation
  • Energy-saving light bulbs

  • Water
  • Controls on tap flow rates
  • Leak detection
  • Sensible laundry of sheets and towels

  • Detergents and disinfectants
  • Use of environmentally friendly products
  • Training of staff in the best use of products

  • Waste
  • Waste sorting
  • Transport of waste to recycling centres and glass collection skips
  • Restriction on the use of disposable products and individually wrapped products
  • In the day to day running of the hotel, we shall endeavour to comply with good environmental practice in aspects as varied as building maintenance, staff training, monitoring and analysing energy and water consumption, the volume of waste produced, the energy efficiency of equipment and appliances, gardening without the use of chemicals, detecting water leaks, etc.

    Finally, in accordance with the spirit and the letter of the criteria for awarding the EUROPEAN ECOLABEL, we shall provide our guests with as much information as possible.

    You will find notices in a number of places around the hotel asking you to be bear in mind the effect your daily habits may have on the environment whilst staying at LES TOURELLES, as elsewhere.
    This applies in particular to:

    1. Turning off radiators if you are opening a window
    2. Switching off lights when you leave the room
    3. Sensible use of bathwater
    4. Changing sheets only when necessary
    5. Using the bin in the bathroom
    6. Changing towels only when necessary

    Please be on the lookout for water leaks, and tell us if you find any fault.

    Hand and bath towels are only changed at your request, if you leave them on the floor as a sign that you want us to do so. For longer stays, the sheets are changed twice a week.

    In the case of rubbish, please leave any cans or glass or plastic bottle on view for sorting prior to recycling.

    You will find information in reception on public transport in the area: trains leaving from the Rue and Noyelles stations, coaches and the "P'tit train de la Haute Somme" (www.somme.fr)...
    Bicycles are available for hire from the Garage de la Baie, on the village main street.

    The Baie de Somme is wonderful area and measures have been introduced to protect its biodiversity, landscape and wildlife. You will find information in the lounge and in reception on organised tours whereby you can discover the Baie on foot or on horseback.

    Our « green policy » is on display in reception along with our plan of action for the coming months.
    There is a questionnaire in your room giving you the chance to pass on your comments regarding the various aspects of our policy.
